Dental Technology

The professional team at River Bluff Dental is continually learning about and implementing the latest advances in dental technology. The focus on cosmetic dentistry is continually changing, and Dr. Walter Palmer is committed to keeping himself as well as his team on the cutting edge of technology. Our office is equipped with several types of equipment in particular that make a patient’s visit more comfortable, efficient and effective.

Zoom!™

For patients who want a whiter, brighter smile as quickly as possible, we offer the Zoom!™ chairside whitening system. This in-office procedure takes less than one hour and produces significantly whiter teeth in just one visit. Some patients may require more than one office visit to achieve the maximum whiteness, which can go up to eight shades whiter. Tooth whitening is one of the most affordable and easiest ways to enhance your smile and give a new sparkle to your face.

CEREC® 3

Another state-of-the-art technology at River Bluff Dental that saves patients time is the CEREC® 3 system, which allows Dr. Palmer to create an all-porcelain dental crown in the office. Using 3D imaging software, Dr. Palmer can create up to two dental crowns meeting the patient’s individual specifications. What typically would require two or more office visits can be completed in just one visit.

TENS Unit

Patients suffering from painful symptoms of temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ/TMD) often find relief from a neuromuscular dentist. Dr. Palmer is a highly trained and experienced neuromuscular dentist who uses a variety of sophisticated equipment to diagnose TMJ in patients. One such instrument is the Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation (TENS) unit which allows Dr. Palmer to send electrical pulses to the face in order to relax a patient’s jaw muscles and determine the optimal resting jaw position. After this process is complete, Dr. Palmer can recommend treatment options to help move the jaw into proper position.

Diode Laser

Gum recontouring can turn a gummy smile into an absolutely gorgeous, even and healthy-looking smile. Many patients shied away from this type of procedure in the past because it involved the use of a scalpel. Today, gum recontouring is performed with a laser. River Bluff Dental uses the Odyssey 810 diode laser to reshape patients’ gum lines with precision and less bleeding. Recovery time is quicker and the entire procedure is more comfortable for the patient.
